Lisa and Blair?s Mountain Top Whistler Wedding!!

August 12, 2014

Lisa looks gorgeous in her Essense of Australia ivory French Mikado gown!! A classic sweetheart neckline and delicate pleating through the bodice is finished with dramatic Mikado and organza ruffles inset into the skirt. The best part – the ruffles were removable creating two different looks! We loved how Lisa infused both her West Coast roots and Blair's East Coast roots by using sand from both their home town beaches in the sand ceremony!! Plus we adore their fur baby Diesel who was able to be a part of the event and stole the show with his adorable bow tie!

Lisa and Blair got married at Nita Lake Lodge in Creekside, Whistler.  It was a morning wedding - starting at 11am followed by an amazing brunch in the Cure Lounge at Nita Lake. The event was planned by Whistler Event Planner – Marcie and Lisa told us that she give Marcie 100% of the credit for making the day completely stress free so that they could totally focus on having fun.

Lisa was able to give us some of her favorite moments from this special day:

“The number one memory from the wedding was definitely having all of our closest family and friends in one location to celebrate with us!  It was truly amazing.  Never in my wildest dreams would we have thought that we could ever bring together all of our favourite people in one room.  But we did!  People travelled from all across Canada to come and join in the celebrations.  They made a holiday of it and I think people really enjoyed themselves and took time to soak up all of the beauty that the west coast has to offer!

Another highlight was definitely trekking around Whistler Mountain following our ceremony with Robin and her assistant, James.  Robin took us straight to the top of Whistler and allowed us to get those incredible shots of the surrounding mountains (luckily the weather cooperated!!)  It has always been my dream to get married in the mountains and when I saw that Robin's main photography is outdoor lifestyle and sports, I knew she'd be just the woman to get those shots that I've always dreamed of. And we definitely weren't disappointed in the results! We spent about 4 hours in the afternoon hunting around for locations.... and watching bears! It was truly a special experience that Blair and I will never forget.

Our "after party" was another highlight.  After trekking around Whistler Mountain all day Blair and I met up with our friends and family at the Dubh Linn Gate to dance the night away with Ruckus Deluxe (a band which regularly plays at the pub.)  The band was perfect for our wedding as they have a huge east coast influence playing a lot of cover songs from modern times as well as traditional Irish tunes... and since a lot of our family had travelled from Nova Scotia and Newfoundland they felt right at home!!  It was the perfect way to join my west coast roots and blair's east coast roots into one big party!

Anyways, I could go on and on and on!  It truly was a special day....Thanks again for making the "search for the dress" a really special and memorable experience”

Lisa and Blair – we wish you both a lifetime of  love, health and happiness!!
